Aimaaġvik Assisted Living

Arctic Slope Native Association (ASNA) is pleased to announce it has been granted licensure by the State of Alaska as of February 29, 2016 to manage the day-to-day operations of the Assisted Living Center in Barrow. The facility was previously managed by Hope Community Resources through a contractual agreement with the North Slope Borough and will remain at its existing facility. ASNA has renamed the facility, Aimaaġvik, which translates to “a place you call home” in the Iñupiaq language. Aimaaġvik is a 12-bed facility with six shared rooms. Longtime ASNA employee Diane (Dee) Nosbisch is the director of Aimaaġvik Assisted Living.

We offer our residents the following:

  • Clean and sanitary accommodations
  • Three nutritious meals daily (plus snacks)
  • Help with activities of daily living, which include bathing, toileting, dressing
  • 24-hour supportive care
  • 24-hour nursing telephone support
  • Medication supervision
  • Housekeeping and laundry services
  • Weekly linen changes, or as needed
  • Recreational and meeting space
  • Privacy, including for phone calls
  • Organized recreational, spiritual, and physical activities
  • Program of personal services to enhance residents independent living skills
  • Referrals to medical or social services when appropriate
