Good dental health is an important indicator for overall health and well-being. Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital’s state-of-the-art dental care and practices help guard against disease and physical ailments in our communities.
Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital Dental Clinic offers dental services for patients of all ages and everyone. These services extend to the village clinics of Atqasuk, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Lay and Wainwright. They include dental examination, cleaning, restoration and surgery.
Services include:
- Dental examination, periodic and emergency
- Preventive services, such as oral health and nutrition counseling, cleanings, sealants and more
- Restorations and routine oral surgery, including removal of most wisdom teeth
- Services for limited root canal therapy, crowns, bridges, and dentures are available in the Barrow clinic.
YEAR-ROUND SPECIALTY DENTAL CLINICS
Special dental clinics are offered throughout the year. During Oral Surgery Clinics, a specialist is available to provide non-routine oral surgery procedures under sedation. Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital Dental also provides annual Denture Clinics for fabrication of removable partials and complete dentures under the care of a prosthodontist (denture specialist). INSURANCE
The Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital Patient Accounts staff, as a courtesy, will submit claims for treatment rendered to your dental insurance on your behalf. Please be aware that no dental insurance covers 100% of all dental services.
Our staff will be happy to provide you with a written treatment plan that includes estimated charges. Treatment provided to beneficiaries of the Indian Health Service does not usually involve co-pay, but please check with our staff before scheduling your treatment.
PAYMENT PLANS
We are happy to answer any questions you may have in regards to your dental treatment plan and associated fees, explain what your insurance covers, or work out a payment plan if needed.
