Family Preservation and Child Welfare Services Programs

Families form the heart of our communities. The Family Preservation and Child Welfare Services Programs promote safe and stable families and further support the traditional Iñupiat values of love and respect for one another, and family, kinship and roles.

The purpose of ASNA Title IVB Subparts 1 & 2 Program is to help families in crisis to increase confidence in their parenting abilities, ensure children enjoy a safe, stable, and supportive family environment, and promote healthy marriages. These services are available to adoptive, foster, and extended families. On behalf of the Arctic Slope villages of Anaktuvuk Pass, Atqasuk, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Hope, Point Lay, and Wainwright, eligible families with children may be assisted with additional family support in their time of need ensuring children are raised in safe and loving families by protecting and promoting the welfare of all children. A screening/intake process is conducted through this division to clarify child protection and care details.

Please contact ASNA to fully understand the eligibility determination processes.
