ASNA Hires New Hospital Administrator

ASNA Hires New Hospital Administrator

Arctic Slope Native Association (ASNA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Hospital Administrator, Richard Hall, whose start date was May 11.

He has been an integral part of our team since he began his duties with Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital (SSMH) earlier this year as Interim Hospital Administrator. Mr. Hall is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the current operations, future growth and program development for SSMH.

Mr. Hall is a Registered Nurse and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an Engineering background.  He has 25 years of health care experience with 15 of those years in leadership positions. In his leadership roles, Mr. Hall has worked with medical and emergency room staff and has lead nursing in large hospital facilities, including the Alaska Native Medical Center facility in Anchorage, Alaska.

President/CEO Marie Carroll says, “Our ASNA Board of Directors and Hospital Governing Body are very pleased to welcome Richard to the ASNA leadership team. Richard served as Interim Hospital Administrator before he was hired permanently, which gave him the opportunity to know our hospital and the people we serve. I look forward to working with Richard on our goals to meet the health care needs of our North Slope community.”

“After having the opportunity to work as Interim Hospital Administrator while on loan from the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, it was clear to me that I wanted to be here on a permanent basis,” commented Mr. Hall, “I feel it’s a privilege to get to work with all these wonderful people. The positive energy of the staff is what drew me.”

We look forward to Richard and his wife Natalie becoming part of the ASNA and North Slope family.
