BIA Higher Education, Job Placement, and Adult Vocational Training Programs
We help eligible tribal members in the communities of Atqasuk and Wainwright reach educational and job placement goals.
ASNA administers a BIA PL 93-638 contract for both villages in support of eligible tribal members who seek opportunities to enhance their employment, education, and career goals. Please contact ASNA to begin the process and request a complete BIA Financial Assistance Application Form and to fully understand the eligibility processes for Higher Education, Job Placement, and Adult Vocational Training Programs. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide complete documentation by the due date for eligibility considerations. Incomplete application packets delay further processing.
The Higher Education Program provides scholarships for those enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree Program at an accredited college or university. The Job Placement Program assists in short or long-term training programs to obtain or renew job skills needed for full-time employment. Once an eligible tribal member is approved for Job Placement or Adult Vocational Training funding, a progress report verified by the training institution is required and due to ASNA by the 20th of each month for further consideration for monthly financial support, which may come in the form of housing, food/meals, or stipend.
