Child Care Development Fund Resources

Introduction:

The Arctic Slope Native Association offers child care services through our Child Care Development Fund in Nuiqsut, Atqasuk, Point Hope, Anaktuvuk Pass, Wainwright, Kaktovik, Point Lay, and through a memorandum of agreement, we assist the Native Village of Barrow.

Our Tribal Child Care Services aim to provide child care options for families and promote the health and safety of children across the Arctic Slope. If you are interested in learning about different opportunities to support your child care program or need to learn more about the options available, please reach out to us.

Who is eligible:

Families of tribally enrolled children are eligible to apply, and parents must be employed, looking for employment, in school, or a training program.

ARPA Grant:

Moreover, the Arctic Slope Native Association is pleased to announce the ARPA Grant, which provides funds to licensed or relative providers. These funds can be used to support child care in various ways, such as rent, mortgage, or utilities, payroll, benefits, and staff, staff training and professional development, maintaining or improving your facility/home (no construction), cleaning supplies and PPE, and mental health support for children and providers.

The Arctic Slope Native Association is able to provide funds to licensed or relative providers. Listed below are some of the different ways that you could utilize these funds to help support child care.

  • Rent, mortgage, or utilities
  • Payroll, benefits, and staff
  • Staff training and professional development
  • Maintaining or improving your facility/home (no construction)
  • Cleaning supplies and PPE
  • Mental Health support for children and providers
